Being Well-Dressed – A Matter of Etiquette?

14 Jun 2016 | Style | 1 comment

This morning, scrolling through my Instagram feed, I came across this simple statement which embodies why it is I do what I do, and why I personally try to make a bit of an effort when I get ready every the morning.

Being Well Dressed is a beautiful form of politeness

There is so much confusion and noise it seems, about fashion and feminism, empowering women and dressing to please others. The taboos of wearing make up and the taboos of not wearing make up. Heels are bad for you. Heels are sexist. Heels are gorgeous. Heels are compulsory. Never judge a book by its cover, beauty is only skin deep. Etcetera etcetera. I’m sure you have quite a number of your own to add to these cliches.

So to quieten the noise, today I’m zero-ing in on this one, simple idea: that to present yourself as well as you can, always, is to pay the utmost respect to yourself as well as the rest of humanity.

What do you think?
